Hello and welcome to episode 10 of Where The East Begins! Thank you so much for clicking on this video.

In this episode you'll see me exploring southern Serbia. I was staying in Niš, a big city in the south of the country and I did a day trip to Kruševac, the former capital of Serbia.

Often Southern Serbia is called "the birthplace of Serbia". The region played a foundational role in shaping Serbian statehood, identity, and resistance through different historical eras.

I had only ever visited the two largest cities in the north of the country Belgrade and Novi Sad, so I was super excited to see a different kind of Serbia.

In Kruševac I met up with my friend Ivana from Belgrade. She is from Kruševac and was there to visit her family. She was kind enough to show me her city.

Serbia has become one of my favorite countries in Europe due to its kind people, good food, and beautiful landscape. But also because it's one of the last countries in Europe that has managed to preserve it's authentic culture.

Often times people ask me if Serbia isn't a dangerous country. No, it's not as you can see.

Serbians are super hospitable so if you're still debating about whether you should visit or your family isn't sure about letting you go, use this video as proof that Serbia is a wonderful country!
