Real time video showing you how to make your own version of a Origami Self close box, no glue required! The hardest part is deciding which paper to use!
One piece 12 by 12
score on one edge 3', 4 1/2', 7 1/2' and 9'.
turn 90 degrees
score at 1 1/2', 3', 9 and 10 1/2''. LIGHTLY SCORE AT 6' in the middle 3in of the paper.
have the lightly scored 6 inch line is vertical.
Take each corner edge and fold into the 4 1/2' score lines to create a triangle in each corner of the other side of the paper.
Flip the paper over so you are looking at the other side with the lightly scored 6 in line now vertical.
now fold the top and bottom into the lightly scored 6 in line so you can see the other side of the paper.
Next fold from the centre back on itself so all you should see is the same side of the paper. And ‘untuck’ the corners to make a rectangle shape rather than triangular.
Flip it back over so that the lightly scored line is now vertical.
You then need to ‘pleat’ the rectangle shape back on itself so that it lines up with the edge of the reserve side (watch video!!) both top and bottom
Rotate 90 degrees and start to bring the sides of the box together.
