WAX FAQs:
1. How long have I been waxing? Since the beginning of 2019 (I THINK)
2. What wax do I use? Currently, Tress Wellness and Wax Necessities.
3. Where do I normally go to get waxed? European Wax Center
4. How often do I wax? Every 2-3 weeks for facial waxing. Every 4-6 weeks for Brazilian waxes. Every 6-8 weeks for underarm waxes.
5. How long does hair have to be before waxes? Grain of rice is what I’m told. I usually allow AT LEAST two weeks of hair growth.
6. How do I prepare for waxes? I wash 30-60 minutes before the wax so the skin is clean and oil/dirt-free. I exfoliate 2-3 times per week ideally. I have a skincare routine where you can find some products that I use regularly here:    • From CRUSTY... to LOVELY | My Skincare Q&A...  
7. Why do I have so much facial hair? Hormonal imbalance paired with actually shaving my face for YEARS.
8. How long does it take for hair to grow back? It depends on each individual, I notice the hair growth on the face a few days before I am due for a wax.
9. How many times do I wax one area? I try not to wax an area more than 3 times per wax session.
10. Does the hair grow back itchy and prickly? NO, which is why I love waxing (outside of my infatuation for hair removal).
11. Does it hurt? Also, depends on the individual. For me, the pain is about a QUICK 5 and then the sting is over.
12. How can you prevent the pain? Breathe during the wax. Some say you can take pain killers before the wax. Don’t overthink it! Listen to music to soothe you.
13. Is waxing better than shaving? Definitely. I’m no expert but I’ve been taught that waxing weakens the root of the hair and overtime destroys it. Meaning, I will have less hair growth over time, waxes will hurt less over time and hair will slide out easier.
14. What if you break out? You may be allergic to the type of wax which is why you should test a small are before using any kind of wax.
15. How to soothe redness after a wax? I use coconut oil to remove residue and the European wax center RENEW ME serum to soothe the skin.
16. Ideal temperature for wax? 140º-150º F for me personally.
