📖 On September 5, 1968, George Harrison invited Eric to Abbey Road Studios where the album “The Beatles” (also commonly known as “the white album”) was being recorded. The intention of this invitation was to propose him to play on his song “While my guitar gently weeps”. Clapton, at first reluctant, ended up accepting. George left Eric a Gibson Les Paul guitar (curiously the same one he had previously given to George: a guitar known as “Lucy”), which was recorded through an ADT circuit that artificially generates a second track to double the instrument with engineer Chris Thomas moving the oscillator.
Personally, I consider this contribution by Clapton as one of the most beautiful and expressive musical samples of his entire career.
