Dr. Johanna Lammi-Taskula is a sociologist, mother of two adult sons, and grandmother of three. She works as a Research Manager at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. For over three decades, she has researched parental leave, gender equality, and the well-being of families with children. In the COST Action CA21150, Johanna Lammi-Taskula leads the Working Group on Social Inequalities (WG2), together with Sonja Blum and Ruta Braziene. She is also part of the coordination team of the International Leave Policies and Research Network, which publishes an annual report on leave policies in more than 50 countries.
The opening lecture provides an overview of the design of parenting leaves and discusses their relationship to social inequalities.
