This week we bring in the Arturia MicroFreak as the main bass engine. Still got the Analog Rytm MKII running drums, MPC Live III driving the core patterns, and the A9 holding it all together. Some bass patches reused from the Ravelig Live Performance, but adding another device always adds another layer of complexity.
Still living in the 140 pocket — a bit darker this week. More bounce than melody, some extra risers and FX from the MPC plugins, and a bit of MIDI keyboard work just to keep exploring. Drop creation is slowly making sense: the MPC plugins help, and I’m also trying to develop “signature” mixer-FX habits for transitions and switches. Hand coordination still feels like a puzzle sometimes, but the limitations force creativity.
This week is about darker techno basslines from the MicroFreak, more practice on drops, and figuring out how to juggle all these devices while secretly wishing for a third hand.
