This is Lesson 14 in the series A Primer on Errors and Uncertainties. Here, we apply our previous results from a random walk with varying average step size to study the error distribution resulting from a sum of weighted rounding errors. This semi-realistic example shows how the resulting error distribution can look either rather gaussian or rather not gaussian depending on the relative typical sizes of the sources of error.
