Quantum science and technology

Over the last 40 years, a new generation of #quantum technologies has slowly emerged, capable of producing, exploiting, and engineering more subtle aspects of quantum phenomena. As a result, previously unimaginable technological advancements are now possible. Currently, massive investments and research efforts have been launched to develop these quantum technologies, with proposed applications in ultra-sensitive sensors, positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT), communications, and information science. Against this backdrop, the #NATO Office of the Chief Scientist, ‪@NATOACT‬ and the NATO Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE) brought together more than 100 quantum experts to discuss the current state and future direction of quantum science and technology across the NATO Alliance. Their discussion was held on 13-15 June 2023 in Turin, Italy.
