In this video, I machine the legs and rails for a solid timber dining table, starting from very rough stock.
The table legs are cut from a swamp mahogany slab offcut I cut and set aside several years ago when a branch on our property fell, while the rails are ripped from a radiata pine log that I also felled years ago. From there everything is brought down to final dimensions using the table saw, jointer and thicknesser.
This video focuses on turning irregular, rough timber into accurate, square components ready for joinery and becoming the base to a sugar gum slab top dining table.
