Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show in a thunderstorm! - July 2006 - Disney MGM Studios

Zoom Zoom, it's time for the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show presented by Brawny. This show opened on May 5, 2005 and closed on April 2, 2016. During the Happiest Celebration on Earth each Disney World park opened an attraction that was copied from another Disney worldwide property, and MGM Studios opened this gem from the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris.

Even though I was a bit bitter over the removal of Residential Street on the Studio Backlot Tour to build this massive theater, I did enjoy the stunt show. I was sad as well to see the destruction of this theater and Catastrophe Canyon, but it was for Galaxy's Edge so I didn't mind too much.

In this home movie from summer 2006 you can see the entrance to the stunt show. To the right of that was one of the largest bathrooms on property, now extinct. In the queue line you can see cars inside the windows of the maintenance bays. We entered the theater from the back passing by Walt's Grumman G-159 Gulfstream jet "The Mouse". Awesome! I sat in the middle of the bleachers, near the front. The show audio was battling with the high powered fans blowing on me, so some parts are hard to understand. I recorded the whole show, which was stopped due to a thunderstorm, but then resumed. On the way out I recorded Catastrophe Canyon from the top bleachers and outside the theater I was passed by the old MGM rock band Mulch, Sweat, & Shears.

"Ballet Chase" where a red hero car is chased by 5 black cars.

THUNDERSTORM - stops the show. Then it resumes.
Introduction to stunt driver Kurt Hockenberry and backwards stunt driver Chris.
A guest appearance by Herbie the Love Bug from the recent Disney movie Herbie: Fully Loaded, who drives into explosives and comes back in two pieces.
"Blockade" chase, where cars zoom around obstacles like a truck and fruit stand.
An audience member is selected to drive a car with a remote control.
"Motorcycle Chase" where a hero motorcycle is chased by other motorcycles, and then by jet skies. A stunt man falls off the roof while another stunt man lights on fire!
Stunt driver Dave Tommasi pulls up and they explain how the cars are designed for stunts.
In the finale, the parts of the film are spliced together and shown. There is a final chase with the hero car jumping through an explosion.
All the cars and motorcycles come out at the end and then zoom away.
