This was my first time attending an event like this and I will definitely be attending many more in the future. There was plenty of learning points and real life training applicability that I was able to take away from it. Obviously at the end of the day it's just a silly game and therefor sometimes we take risks or do things that wouldn't work in real life but that's just the fun in it. The biggest training point I was able to take away from all of this was a solid refresher of some skills learned in the Marine Corps that I wouldn't normally get to do as a civilian. Some of these include patrolling, establishing patrol bases, ambushes, communicating and maneuvering with large elements.
