Please keep in mind that these are NOT all the sirens that Los Angeles used during the Cold War. These were just all of the confirmed ones that used the 9/12 Port Rotors. Left siren is a Federal 500T, Center Siren is a Federal Model 5/7T, and right siren (which would perhaps be the most common of the sirens in LA) is a Federal SD-10 siren all manufactured and installed beginning in 1954. This is an example of what Los Angeles Civil Defense sirens likely sounded like during the cold war era. At least the 9/12 Port sirens. All sirens in Los Angeles have been disconnected from service since early 1985 and has never sounded off ever since.
