DJI Vs Autel D-LOG/LOG comparison 4K - DJI Mavic 3 vs DJI Mavic 2 vs Autel Evo 2 Pro vs Autel Nano+

I wanted to test the new LOG video feature in the new Autel Nano+ 249g drone plus a fellow drone enthusiast Drone Avenger had asked if I could do it. But then my friend Dragan offered to let me fly his DJI Mavic 3 drone so I decided to widen the scope by including the Mavic 3, Mavic 2 Pro and Autel Evo 2 Pro. So this video has LOG footage from all 4 drones on a morning and evening flight. It is not a scientific test but should give you a good idea of what to expect with each of these drones.

Weather: The early morning flight wasn't great as it was very cloudy and the sun poked through while I was flying which made it hard to film. The evening flight was better although we didn't have an amazing sunset. Still it was fun flying and great to see what each drone can do.

Video settings on each: 4K LOG 30fps 1/60 manual on all except the Nano+ was on auto (currently LOG and HDR is only available in auto for now). ND8 filters on all for the morning shot except the Nano as I am still waiting for ND filters to arrive for the Nano.

DJI Mavic 3: This was my first flight with this drone and I noticed it flew slightly faster than the other drones and it was more aggressive on the stick rates. This can be fixed in the settings to help with smoother turns. I also realized that the D-LOG was over-exposed a bit in the morning flight. On the phone the shadows on the buildings looked OK however the actual video was over exposed a bit which I fixed in editing. The morning sun had also broken through the clouds when I was flying it which didn't help. Something to be aware of although that means you may not see the shadows on the phone. I also lost video signal briefly and I saw a warning message while flying about 450m away. This did not happen with the 3 other drones. I used the DJI Mavic 3 LUT for this drone.

DJI Mavic 2 Pro: This drone had IMU and Compass Calibration warnings so I had to calibrate the drone before flying. However once this was done it flew perfectly and was a joy to fly. I know this drone well as I had one for a couple of years. The day and low light video is great but I do find the two 4K modes a bit annoying along with the distortion when you use LOG. It is not so great when it is dark, compared to the 3 other drones. I did change the shutter to 1/30 when it was dark. I used the DJI Mavic 2 Pro LUT for this drone.

Autel Evo 2 Pro: This is my daily drone and I know it well. It's standard flight mode feels a bit slower than the DJI drones and todays flight has reminded me that I should increase it a little in the settings although it does have a sports mode. The Evo always flies well and it has a great low light camera although it does have a magenta tint which can be removed in editing. I don't normally use the Autel LUT however for this test I used the Autel Evo 2 Pro LUT to show you what you will get with it.

Autel Nano+: I used the sports mode called ludicrous to fly this drone as it makes it feel like a bigger drone plus it helps if there is wind. It flew really well and it always amazes me how good it is for such a tiny drone. The camera quality is impressive and the LOG footage looked good to me however I think the HDR feature should be used for the money shots (see the very last shots at the end of this video). The only issue is that its LOG is only 8bit and when you edit the dynamic range may not be as good as the other 3 drones which are 10bit. Autel need to add a few more features such as full manual mode for LOG and HDR. I used the Autel Nano LUT in this video.

Edited with Davinci Resolve. Only basic editing, low lights raised a little on all. I normally would do a lot of corrections but I didn't in this video.
