Japan's deep, dark waters are home to some truly extraordinary marine creatures-- including many different sharks from threshers and Pacific sleepers to something much more obscure. These are just nine of the fascinating, beautiful, and sometimes strange sharks filmed by Japanese ROVs (remotely operated vehicles.)
