This video shows the full process of forging a Damascus-style knife using 100 steel springs as the main material. The springs are packed into a metal canister, forge welded at high temperature, and compressed using a hydraulic press and power hammer to form a solid billet.
The blade is then shaped, ground, and heat treated in oil to achieve strength and durability. After careful hand sanding, the Damascus pattern is revealed through acid etching, creating a chaotic and one-of-a-kind steel texture that cannot be replicated.
