Too Loud for Lake Como? Lotus Elise vs VW Golf

Lake Como might be known for peace and elegance — but not today. In Part 3 of the Pellio trip, I hit the Italian roads with my Lotus Elise Cup 250, joined by a friend in a ridiculously loud VW Golf with a titanium exhaust. What was supposed to be a calm drive turned into a chaotic mix of tight streets, traffic madness, exhaust pops, and cinematic lake views. If you love manual sportscars, raw POV drives, and a bit of road trip drama, you’re going to love this one. Alpine tunnels, heat, fuel struggles, and some unexpected ear damage included. Welcome to Como.

DISCLAIMER:
I always obey the speed limits!
Speed limits typically range from 30 to 120 km/h,
with some sections of the German Autobahn being unrestricted.
For reference, my speedometer reads approximately 10% higher than my actual speed
(e.g., 90 km/h on the speedometer = 80 km/h GPS).
This video is edited for cinematic effect and does not reflect real-world speeds.
Safety is my top priority—both for myself and others.
I remain in full control of my vehicle at all times.
I always brake within my line of sight and stay within my lane on corners.
On public roads, I never push my cars beyond 70-90% of their limits.
These Alpine roads are incredibly fun to drive—even within the speed limits.
Many of the corners are so tight that you wouldn’t be able to reach the limit anyway!
Drive safe and enjoy the roads!
Cheers!
