My bikini competition shredded journey has got a lot of attention, inspired some of you. But while you admired my rapid weight loss and jealous-worthy shredded, probably didn't realize it’s dangerous, unhealthy and unsustainable. I hope to spread the message and inspire young girls to be healthy!
However, I want to change that toxic culture, be open and really show you what the other side is like.
Since my last competition (full documentary video • Female Bodybuilding Journey | Full Documen... ) I gained 35 lbs weight, from 122 to 157 (in the video I said from 125 to 150, but I actually gained more than that including water weight). Hormones are out of whack, periods are irregular. And I felt hungry no matter how much I ate - donuts bread steak cake dessert pizza gyro candy pasta pancakes -some days I’d have 4000+ calories, most days 3000-4000. (When I was competing, I was well under 2000).
So after two months of consistently eating like a pig, I did gain lots of weight (see my Instagram pictures @fitter.than.yesterday), on the flip side my hormones are fixed and periods are regular again. So my appetite started to drop and I’m eating about 2500 calories on average now. Weight started to drop and I’m now at about 145 lbs.
In this video I’m going to show you a full day of eating, 2400 calories total, 203 grams protein, 218 grams carbs, 80 grams fat. Now 203 protein is really high, I love protein rich foods and eat a lot of protein, but you don’t need to eat that much protein. The common recommendation is 1grams per lbs of body weight.
Ideally I’d eat 50 grams fewer protein (so 150g rather than 200g) and get the calories down to 2200. (Tip: 1 grams protein = 4 calories) But oh well, this is an honest full day of eating so here we go! :D
