Could This Be The End of MegaTall Skyscrapers?

There is no doubt that Megatall skyscrapers are beautiful, but it has been declared that they are fast becoming obsolete. This is not a way of denying us of “beautiful things'', but the number of deficiencies and loopholes involved with them is getting unbearable. Megatall skyscrapers face the problem of oscillation, sometimes resulting in the crashing of window panes. The case of 200 Clarendon is a vivid example.

The mishap of 200 Clarendon Street, previously known as John Hancock Tower, in New England, was indeed a serious one. But it is kind of dated to the past and the building was widely known for its prominent structural flaws. There was even an analysis that the entire building could overturn under certain wind loads, as well as a design failure of its signature blue windows, which allowed any of the 500-lb. window panes to detach and fall, up to the full height of the structure, thereby endangering pedestrians below.

The situation was an anticipated one, due to the number of outrageous inadequacies. However, the idea of putting an end to the construction of Megatall skyscrapers is unbelievable and preposterous! Are there more reasons for this? Or is there a hidden fact to these structures that we have not discovered?
