This is a song on Goddess Lakshmi.
Kruti: Kamakshi Shri Varalakshmi
Raga: Bilahari
Tala: Adi
Composer: Muthuswamy Dikshitar
Language: Sanskrit
Singer: Hemadarshini Viswanathan
Meaning:
Oh Kamakshi! Having glances full of love, Oh Varalakshmi! Bestower of boons, Kamalakshi, the One with lotus-like eyes, Jayalakshmi, the Bestower of victory!
She is the embodiment of prosperity of Lord Vishnu (Kamajanaka - Father of Kamadeva) and the omnipresent One. She bestows the desired boons on Her devotees; She is the One who lives in the art of love - Kamakala; One who is blemishless with lotus like hands. She is Kamala, praised in the most romantic Raga Bilahari.
Her form is as illuminous as crores of sons; The reflection of Her form dazzles with unsurpassed divine brilliance. She takes an illusory image - Maya. She is worshipped by Brahma and others. She is the consort of the supreme being Vasudeva. She is the object for contemplation, meditation, identified through meditation and to be meditated upon; She bestows glorious kingdom; One who is understood by sages like Sanaka, Sanandana; She is the compassionate One and grants favours to the ardent Guruguha.
