This is one of few rides at Adventure Island that is more suited for grown up kids or adults. The other rides on-site are tailored towards young kids and are very family friendly.
The cars seat 8 persons in a 4 abreast configuration. The ride starts a completely vertical climb up before dropping down into the one and only loop at Adventure Island.
The video also captures the chain drive mechanism that lifts the cars to the top with only a single AC synchronous motor via hypoid gear. The cars have a ratchet mechanism that stops them from falling back down the tower should the chain snap.
The whole ride takes just 1 minute. This ride attracts the longest queue at the park.
This is at Adventure Island theme park at Southend-on-Sea. Rides here cost £2.50 each regardless of attraction. Alternatively, guests can get a wristband for £25 that grants unlimited access to rides.
Adventure Island is the world's No. 1 free-entry fun park and is also the top-rated theme park in Essex.
