"Red Rising" is what you get when you throw a bunch of Roman mythology into a blender with "The Hunger Games," set it on Mars, and add a pinch of class warfare. Darrow, our hero (or pawn, depending on how you look at it), is a Red - basically the Martian underclass. He discovers he's been slaving away for a bunch of Golds, living it up space luxury. So, he goes undercover as a Gold, infiltrating their elite academy. What follows is an exciting series of betrayals, ruthless competition, and a dash of revolution. It's like watching a high-stakes game where everyone cheats, and the stakes are for the future of humanity, no big deal.
