INSTRUCTIONS 📋 TO HELP REMOVE THE DOOR HANDLE:



REMOVE:


Step 1:

Open the door & on the inner door panel, lightly push the center of each of the 5 circular rivet push clips with either a hook pick, pointed tip, or awl.


Step 2:

Place a pry bar behind each clip to pop them out. These clips and pointed tips will be used later for reinstallation of the door panel.


Step 3:

Take out the 4 Philips screws 🔩 on the bottom of the panel.


Step 4:

Locate a flap like door towards the inner door handle and below on the longer grab handle bar. Use a hook pick or flat tip screwdriver to open the flaps.


Step 5:

Remove each screw by the handles flaps.


Step 6:

Firmly pull up the door panel which disengages the inner door panel from its 3 clips. You may want to lightly pry around the door panel first to make it easier when pulling upwards.


Step 7:

The inner panel is still attached & you will see some wire harness connector clips that need to be removed by squeezing them and pulling them off the door panel.


Step 8:

Remove the 🔒 lock rod by pushing off the colored clip from the rod with your finger. Then pull the rod to the side as it is loose. The door panel is now free. Place it to the side.


Step 9:

Grab a blow dryer and heat up the corner area of the water guard shield where the door handle is. As you heat up the adhesive glue behind this shield , you will lightly pull it off its adhesive.

ℹ️ The purpose of this is to fit your hand inside to later remove the bolts.


Step 10:

👀 Locate a clear sticker seal that is circular or oblong near the corner of the water guard or directly behind the door handle. Peel it off & place it to the side.


Step 11:

You should see 2 bolts and a colored clip through this hole. This hole gives you access to removing the bolts with a 1/4" ratchet with extension and an 8 mm deep socket.

ℹ️ Before you remove both bolts completely stick your free hand through the opening of the plastic guard to catch or grab the bolts as your other hand is loosening the 2 bolts.


Step 12:

Directly to the left and right are 2 colored clips that can be pushed off with your finger. This releases the rods that power the operation of the locking & unlocking of the door automatically & controls the operation of the movement of the door handle when physically being opening.


Step 13:

Look to the right 👀 of the 2 bolts just removed & you'll see another bolt that needs to be removed with a 1/4" ratchet WITHOUT an extension & ⚠️ VERY IMPORTANT you must use a short 8 mm socket. If you don't use this you cannot remove the bolt as you will hit the glass winnow making it impossible to remove. Remember to keep your free hand 🧤 underneath the bolt to catch it.


Step 14:

Wiggle the handle out and lightly bend or flex it to the side by the key hole. Once this side is out, fold the door handle all the way & pull it out.




Step 15:

To reinstall just reverse the directions.
