This Honda GC160 5HP horizontal shaft engine has been sitting in a shed, untouched for 10 years. It has low hours on it and really doesn't look too bad. There's no reason that a good cleaning won't bring it back to life. The carburetor is full of dead bugs, the gas tank smells horrible, but those are easy to deal with.
The intent of these videos is to help beginners understand how small engines work and how to fix them when they don't! This engine only needed an air filter, a spring replaced and and an oil change to be put back in service. By taking your time, understanding how things work and only requiring simple tools, it is possible to do a lot of the work yourself and keep the cost of repairs to a minimum. It doesn't matter if you are restoring or repairing your motorcycle engine, a boat, a chainsaw, a lawnmower or a weedeater. The repair doesn't need to be complicated and is within most people's skillset. I hope you enjoy these videos and please subscribe to see lots more that are in the works!
