Jamhuri Day celebrations in Kirinyaga County were marked by renewed calls for safety and development. Governor Anne Waiguru highlighted major economic projects including the Sagana EPZ, Special Economic Zone and the County Aggregation and Industrial Park, expected to create thousands of jobs. The County Commissioner Hussein Allasow warned miraa transporters and other motorists against speeding on the Meru–Nairobi highway, directing police to intensify festive-season crackdowns. He also announced tougher action on illicit alcohol tradel.
