The Eaton Fire was a major fire that broke out at night during a severe Santa Ana Wind event in Altadena, California. This fire burned over 14,000 acres, took the lives of 15+ people and burned thousands of structures. These clips only cover a handful of the 20+ days the fire burned. After the end of this video it was difficult to distinguish where the fire was as the winds died down causing the smoke to become more of a vague haze enveloping the mountains entirely.
The first two clips of the orange flames in the distance are from the night the fire broke out - just 2-3 hours from the start time. You can hear how strong the winds are in those clips and despite my camera being on a tripod I was still having to support it to prevent the wind from knocking it over.
Natural disaster videos like this aren't going to be the normal content (I don't want to get in the way of emergency responders just for a shot) but these happened around where I live so I was keeping an eye on them anyway. These fires also had a serious impact on the ocean - contributing to one of the worse Domoic Acid outbreaks to hit marine life. There will be another video on that.
