This tutorial takes you step-by-step in how to make a double sided minky blanket using Luxe Cuddle Minky Fabric. This ultra soft, double sided minky blanket kit features two layers of luxe minky fabric, pre-cut, de-shedded, and ready to sew. The finished size of this baby blanket is 35x29 inches and is perfect for cuddling, swaddling, and to use as a security blanket. This is hands down my go-to gift for baby showers and the mother (and guests) always swoon over it. Plus, it is simple and quick to sew together with just a few simple tools. You can use this same sewing technique with any size blanket. Just cut two pieces of minky to the size desired and sew together the same way.
Fabric Requirements:
2 pieces of minky cut to 35x29 inch (We used 1 piece of Luxe Cuddle Seal in Cloud and 1 piece Luxe Cuddle Hide in Cloud by Shannon Fabrics.)
Tools Needed:
Sewing Machine
Walking Foot
Clover Wonder Clips or Flower Head Pins
Stretch Needles (recommended)
Polyester Thread (recommended)
NOTE: When washing and caring for your minky, NEVER use heat. Wash in cold water (with only detergent, no fabric softener) and dry on the air setting (no heat).
