every time I listened to this song I thought about Byler and cried. well now I can watch this and cry all over again.
I hate the duffers for giving us hope and for deliberately playing with the audience. all those scenes, parallels, and references (rain scene from Eyewitness) were clearly there to queerbait us. but this goes beyond queerbaiting. It’s just bad writing.
byler never got a proper or logical ending. el’s and mike’s arcs were completely wrecked and will’s too even if it’s less obvious.
and honestly I wouldn’t be this upset if will and mike had at least kept the closeness they once had. but in the epilogue there’s barely anything left of that bond. they feel like the kind of friends who talk once a year. except season four already showed us they won’t even do that...
