Here is an article on my blog showing this information as well: http://disc4life.com/blog/?p=213 . I created 1.5 million files in a directory to show how to deal with this type of issue. If you use my inodes video • What is eating my disk space? Disk Usage &... to find directories, and you find one with excessive files you need a way to deal with them. Using regex we can remove the unnecessary files, and keep just the files you need. After doing that we can rsync the files to a new directory, and then move the directory into its place.
