Would Terraria be easier if every block was Luminite?

This is a little experiment, it's not as simple as you might think. Luminite is an odd Terraria ore, and without shimmer it would be mostly useless for almost the entire game. With shimmer, this becomes much more interesting, but you can also have too much of a good thing...
