End of Diplomacy? Restoring Dialogue in the Age of Conflict
From Gaza to Ukraine, diplomacy is increasingly sidelined by airstrikes, sanctions, and real-time escalation. In a world where wars are waged through drones, proxies, and viral disinformation, negotiation tables are gathering dust. National security decisions are often made faster than diplomats can respond—and sometimes by algorithms, not ambassadors. Is it time to reconceptualize traditional war diplomacy in the age of war and power vacuums?
Have modern wars made traditional negotiation frameworks redundant?
Can conventional diplomacy survive when conflicts are fought through proxies, private militias, and cyber offensives?
Given institutions like the UN Security Council are no longer useful, are there other platforms and groupings where diplomacy and negotiation might be effective?
