Welcome to Part 11 of the Delta Unisaw table saw rebuild. In this episode I am wiring up the table saw switch, including the use of a magnetic starter (mag starter) and a motor overload relay. I am also incorporating a paddle switch into these industrial on-off controls and I talk about the safety benefits of paddle switches, including how having one on my table saw saved me from possible injury.
In this mini series, I am rebuilding a once-great table saw with the hopes of bringing it back to a like-new condition. The Unisaw line of table saws are some of the best built table saws that have been on the market for the past 75+ years. Like Wadkin Bursgreen, and General Canada Machinery, these Delta Unisaws were designed for hard day-after-day use, and as such they gained a reputation of being one of the most capable and reliable woodworking machines of the 20th century.
