In real estate, housing prices have long been tied to location, location, location. In recent years, premiums paid to live close to city centres have risen in cities throughout the world. COVID-19 has spurred a work from home revolution and has disrupted this paradigm. This lecture explores whether this revolution will endure, and the long-term effects on the desirability of living downtown as well as urban and suburban housing prices.
Tom Davidoff, PhD, is an associate professor and director of the Centre for Urban Economics and Real Estate at the Sauder School of Business. His research interests include housing, aging, insurance and real estate.
