The Flyback converter with current-mode control is widely used in isolated applications below 150 W, in which an optocoupler transmits the output voltage feedback signal across the isolation barrier for regulation. The optocoupler is therefore part of the feedback loop and its characteristics need to be considered when designing the compensator to ensure stability and good transient performance of the converter.
In this webinar we show you:
• How to design an optocoupler-based Type 2 compensator to stabilize a current-mode Flyback converter in CCM
• How to estimate and assess the impact of optocoupler CTR variations and pole frequency
• How to achieve a fast transient response despite the optocoupler pole limit
