1981 - Spizzles, with the track 'Danger of Living'. This is from the Spikey Dream Flowers album. This band superseded SpizzEnergi and Athletico Spizz '80. The line up was;
Spizz - Vocals
Clive Parker- Drums
Lu Edmonds - played Guitar on the track, but Kevin Armstrong appears in the video
Jim Solar - Bass, keyboards
This was the line-up after the original band dissolved - Dave Scott (who'd played on the Do a Runner album,) and songwriter Mark Coalfield, (keyboards) had left the band.
Kevin Armstrong took over from Lu Edmonds (The Damned, PIL) to tour with the band. Lu had played on the Spikey Dream Flowers record but left the band. Kevin Armstrong went on to sign a solo deal with EMI, then play with David Bowie and Thomas Dolby amongst others. Clive Parker went on to play with Big Country & others. This was a singles release on A&M records with Scared as the B-side.
The video was shot at a disused power station on the Thames Estuary, and in a studio in Camden Town.
The girl(s) in the video were young fans recruited for the shoot.
The music track was produced by Wally Brill.
The Soldier Soldier video also shot at the same time is on this channel. The track was also from the Spikey Dream Flowers album. A live version from the period is on this channel, with Lu Edmonds again on guitar - at The Paradiso in Amsterdam 1980, as well as a 'Live In Concert' from BBC Radio 1.
