Labour has pulled the Chagos/Diego Garcia bill from the House of Lords schedule and will bring it back later, after Conservatives pushed a pause amendment and Donald Trump publicly attacked the deal.
The deal would hand sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, while keeping the Diego Garcia base running via a 99-year leaseback for the UK and US.
