---I welcome you at this very first event of the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Program. The Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship was founded by the Hungarian Government in 2020 so you are the very first ones to start their Hungarian studies in the framework of this program.
---The Hungarian Government started the Diaspora Scholarship last year for those who - just like you - live in a Hungarian diaspora outside Europe, but would like to reboot their roots and reconnect with their parents' and grandparents' birthplace. This Scholarship will provide you with high-quality higher education while improving your Hungarian language skills and hopefully strengthening your Hungarian identity. Don't just spend your time here studying but immerse yourself in Hungarian culture, go to concerts, exhibitions, eat, drink - responsibly - be merry, and make lots of friends.
