Âng Uî- jîn (洪惟仁)
Born in Chiayi in 1946, he was influenced by his teachers in college. After graduation, he established an organization with friends. In 1972, he was arrested for organizing the "Cosmopolitanism Youth Revolutionary Army, Âng Uî- jîn and others case"(大同主義青年革命軍洪惟仁等案) before they took action.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. While serving the sentence, he studied hard with an open mind. In 1975, due to the death of Chiang Kai-shek, his sentence was reduced and he was released in 1979.
He devoted himself to the research and investigation of Taiwanese languages and literature and established the Department of Taiwanese Languages and Literature at National Taichung University of Education. He hopes that future generations can continue to lead a democratic life. This must be achieved through education, and transitional justice must be achieved.
