This morning, both Bella & Scout are seen in the nest tree (photos were taken from the field cam). Randy & Jim arrived at the nest for the recovery & retrieval of the eaglets bodies. Scout flies in to the LOP and is watching them below. Scout cries out a few times as he is trying to still protect his babies. He flies out and alert calls are heard as he flies back to the Daycare Tree (DCT). At 08:08am, Randy & Jim are seen walking away from the nest - Randy is carrying a box with the eaglets E10, E11 & E12 in it. They approach their car and drive away. Scout returns to the LOP and he continues to look around for his babies - he knows they are gone. He has been staying close to the nest tree today. Their second nest is in good shape & had minimal damage from the wind & they may start using that one.
From NCTC Randy ""Cam 1 is looking at the semi-horizontal branch were the upper nest sat. High wind broke the branch to the right, which was the lower eagle perch for many years. When that supporting branch split off, the nest fell. 9:58 - 10am: we moved cam 1 up for a closeup on the lookout post. Scout is perched there at 10:05am. Bella was seen perched in the tree behind Day Care for some time. She then flew over the nest area around 8:30 am. She is stressed but seems the be ok."
Soar high & free E10, E11 & E12 ♥ Forever in our hearts ♥🐥🐥🐥♥
My deepest condolences to the entire NCTC family and viewers who love this eagle family. Thank you Randy & Jim for retrieving the eaglets. RIP sweet E10, E11 & E12 - you are always in hearts forever. Soar high & free 💔💔💔 Heaven has three new angels & E10, E11 & E12 will be the brightest stars in the sky forever!
