Join Nikki for a close look at ColActive® PLUS collagen dressings.
ColActive® PLUS collagen dressings are made from a patented blend of Collagen, EDTA (ethylenediaminetetracetic acid), Alginate and CMC (carboxymethylcellulose).
This unique formulation:
lowers select excess MMP activity better than the leading competitive collagen dressing
maintains wound pH levels that do not harm growth factors, plasma proteins and other cell types that are required for wound healing
contains EDTA, which has shown to be a potent inhibitor of biofilm formation and disruptor of mature biofilms
is a fish-derived collagen source, making it acceptable for many cultures and religions
ColActive® PLUS Ag provides additional benefits of 5% ionic silver in the formulation, providing broad spectrum antimicrobial activity.
How does it work?
ColActive® PLUS and ColActive® PLUS Ag are Collagen dressings that act as a sacrificial substrate that attracts harmful excess MMP's from the wound.
EDTA is a metal-chelator that deactivates MMPs by binding with zinc ions and has also shown to be a potent inhibitor of biofilm formation and disruptor of mature biofilms
Alginate and CMC work together to optimally maintain a moist wound environment that allows the product to transform to a soft gel, absorbing up to 20 times its weight in wound drainage.
ColActive® PLUS Ag's 5% ionic silver acts as a potent antimicrobial agent.
