This remix is inspired by multiple versions of the track across Sonic history, combining the original Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Mega Drive / Genesis soundtrack with elements from Sonic Generations (Classic) and the energetic Sonic Mania Act 1 arrangement by Tee Lopes.

I added several parts from the Sonic Generations Classic version, blending them with classic FM-synth inspiration and the modern punch introduced in Sonic Mania. The goal was to respect each version while turning them into one cohesive, high-energy remix.

Sonic Mania is a critically acclaimed 2D platformer released in 2017 by SEGA, developed by Christian Whitehead, Headcannon, and PagodaWest Games. It serves as a love letter to classic Sonic the Hedgehog titles, featuring beautifully remastered levels from past games along with brand-new zones, fluid sprite animations, and a fast-paced gameplay experience.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992) on the SEGA Genesis / Mega Drive refined the classic Sonic formula, introduced Tails, and delivered some of the most iconic zones in the series, including the new Spindash mechanic and legendary music by Masato Nakamura.

Sonic Generations is a 3D and 2D platformer released by SEGA in 2011 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. The game brings together Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic, allowing players to experience iconic stages from across the series in both side-scrolling and modern 3D gameplay styles.
