Skunk & Phonk Vol. II continues the dark, underground journey that began with Vol. I, diving even deeper into the atmosphere of classic 90s phonk while expanding the sound with modern production elements.

Built around dark phonk beats and classic sampled material, the album captures the raw energy of the Memphis underground and early phonk aesthetics. Heavy basslines, gritty drums, and dusty textures create a nostalgic foundation that feels straight out of the 1990s, yet refined through a contemporary producer’s approach.

The project is enriched with vocal contributions from various rap artists, alongside chopped vocals and phrases inspired by legendary Memphis phonk figures. These elements are used as mood-driven layers, reinforcing the underground character of the album rather than following conventional song formats.

All beats, arrangements, concepts, and production are entirely handled by jvstck, maintaining a cohesive artistic direction throughout the project. While remaining faithful to classic phonk roots, Vol. II introduces a more modern sound palette, both in beat construction and vocal processing, marking a natural evolution of the Skunk & Phonk series.
