Officials from State House Anti-Corruption Unit have vowed to continue with arrests of those involved in the fraudulent acquisition of public land in Lira City.
In a press conference today in Lira City the team led by deputy head of the unit Israel Ochwo quashed all the accusations that the state house anticorruption unit is witch hunting businessmen.

Israel Ochwo, the deputy head of state house anticorruption unit was today in Lira to respond to allegations put on the unit by some members of the public.
From 2022, state House Anticorruption Unit commenced investigations in Lira after a car was netted carrying loads on land documents at night. Since then, the unit initiated 20 investigations where 22 people have been charged and 2 convicted on land related charges.
After several arrests of civil servants and businessmen in lira some members of the public began complaining that the unit is targeting city investors with ill motives. But said the unit will not sit back and watch highhanded people break the law and abuse public properties.
While Lira city RRC Lawrence Egole asked leaders to desist from shielding the corrupt.
Since its creation in 2018, the state House Anticorruption Unit has charged 543 people of which 292 were civil servants while 251 were non-public servants.
