Professor Frank Painter (18/03/2021): Applied Biomedical Engineering

Professor Frank Painter (University of Connecticut - USA) was our keynote speaker at the EENG664 "Clinical Engineering" course (Spring 2021).

Professor Frank Painter is a pioneer in the field of the Clinical Engineering. He is one of the founders of the American College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE - https://accenet.org/). Professor Painter was the President of the ACCE from 1996 till 2017.

Professor Painter is with over forty years of experience of clinical engineering and biomedical equipment service management experience. Directed in-house programs at three large metropolitan teaching hospitals and managed two successful regional independent medical equipment service organizations.

Professor Painter is actively involved in the American College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE - https://accenet.org/), the New England Society of Clinical Engineering (NESCE - https://nesce.org/) and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI - https://www.aami.org/).

Professor Painter has investigated over 350 medical devices related incidents.

Currently, Professor Painter is faculty member and the past Clinical Engineering Program Director in the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program at the University of Connecticut (USA).
