Day Trip to Grecia & Sarchí, Costa Rica
In this video, we explore two charming towns just outside San José:
= Grecia - Famous for its unique red metal church, La Iglesia de la Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes, shipped all the way from Belgium in the 19th century. We wander through the central park, visit the lively local market, and enjoy the small-town vibe surrounded by beautiful mountains and coffee fields.
€ Sarchí - Known as the birthplace of Costa Rica's traditional ox carts, Sarchí is the country's handicraft capital. Here, we see the colorful painted designs that represent Costa Rican culture, visit workshops, and admire the world's largest ox cart in the town square. It's the perfect spot for picking up souvenirs and experiencing authentic Tico art.
Both towns can be visited in one day by local bus, making it a budget-friendly and cultural trip from San José.
