🌵 How to water succulents with a drainage hole | How to water succulents indoors 🌵

Probably the most often asked question regarding succulent care is, 'how do I water my succuclents?" There are so many conflicting pieces of advice out there! I was taught how to set up the elusive concept of well draining soil in Master Gardener training, and today, I'm going to show you what that looks like, and how to use it in the course of watering your indoor succulents. This video recommends you make your life easy, and utilize flower pots with drainage holes.

The best way to water succulents is to completely soak the soil and then let it dry out completely before you water again.

This is called this the Soak and Dry watering method. When you water your succulents, you want to make sure the soil is completely soaked.

When the soil is soaked, your succulents will absorb as much water as they can. Then wait for the soil to dry out completely – all the way to the bottom -before you water again.

In fact, your succulents will do fine in completely dry soil for several days, especially if they’re larger and have well-established roots.

In nature, during a “drought,” they’ll put out new roots that are thick and healthy, so they can absorb more water when the “flood” comes again.
