Learn About Coatlicue — Goddess of Grieving | The Divine Feminine (The Soul Artist Experience Masterclass)
Hosted by Jane Ramsey — retired business executive turned artist and teacher. Welcome to The Divine Feminine playlist inside The Soul Artist Experience Masterclass: free recorded masterclasses to help you awaken creativity, deepen meditation, and use art as a practice for self‑discovery and healing. Tone: encouraging, inspirational, spiritual (not religious).
What this video covers
You will learn about Coatlicue — “Serpent Skin” — the Aztec mother of life and death, a fierce guardian of cycles and the goddess of grieving. We explore her myth, symbols (serpent skirt, rattlesnakes, motherhood, death/rebirth), and how invoking Coatlicue can support you in facing grief — not bypassing it — so you can move through to new cycles with strength and wholeness.
Art‑journal homework (do this in your art journal)
Breathe: 3–5 minutes of pranayama or quiet reflection to open to your feelings.
Choose a grief to face (big or small). Name it in one sentence.
Create a mixed-media mini-page: draw or collage Coatlicue-inspired imagery — snakes, rattles, moon — and add words or a short lament.
Close with a commitment line: “I will ______ as I move through this grief.”
Optional ritual: make a small offering on your altar, ring a bell, or do three minutes of keening/voice work to release emotion.

Why this matters
Grief is a necessary, natural cycle. Coatlicue’s energy helps you meet pain directly, grieve fully, and emerge with resilience. Using breath + art journaling creates a safe container for transformational grieving and creative healing.
