Fun In The Bigelows - Maine 4,000 Footers - Long Distance Hike Prep

In this video I’m back in Maine, hiking in my favorite range - the Bigelows! I’ve hikes these peaks so many time and from all different angles, but had yet to tag the 2.5 mile section between West Peak and the North Horn. It felt great to finally see that part of the trail and tag South Horn as well! I really love these peaks for the views of surrounding Carrabassett Valley and Flagstaff Lake, but also for their solitude. There is rarely many people when I’m out in them, it truly feels as if you are alone. If you like that - this is the place to go! I’ll put a link down below to the route I took here.
Prepping for my long hike of the Washington State section of the PCT is getting harder and harder as I increase my pack weight. It was around 30 lb this time and boy could I tell! Between that and the mosquitos, this was a challenging day, but so rewarding.
