Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, a businessman long linked to allegations of corruption and criminal networks, appeared before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee investigating claims of police corruption and high-level interference. The committee convened inside Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre so Matlala could testify from custody.
MPs questioned him about allegations that he influenced SAPS operational decisions, interfered in major investigations, and benefited from irregular state contracts — including a cancelled R360 million tender reportedly awarded to his company.
