And I swore I’d never lay my weapon down
Not for gold, not for fame
Not for carving out a name
I live for those who live in chains
For every silent scream and pain

To rise is to live
When your hands still dare to give
To fight is to win
When the truth comes from within
I don’t want peace built on fear
I want a world that keeps us near
So light the flame, refuse to bow
That’s what it means to live right now

I’ve seen the hunger in a child’s stare
While palaces rise in poisoned air
But hope’s a gun you learn to wield
In the mud, in the jungle, in the field
I’ve lost brothers in the night
Felt the cold steel twist and bite
But I’d trade my breath, my final day
If it helped tear one wall away

To rise is to live

We must build socialism
And no matter what, we will build it
Even if we find ourselves
