How to Crochet a Basic Granny Square for Beginners

In this video, I will show you how to crochet this easy granny square. If you're new to crochet and you wanna get used to the stitch patterns and techniques, a granny square is what I recommend.

Materials:
#2/ Sport weight yarn (I'm using 100% cotton by Ashley's Crochet. You can use any brand.)
3mm crochet hook
yarn needle and scissors

Yardage:
a total of 4.8 g or 11.5 m or 13 yds for the square I'm making in this video.

Gauge:
5.5 double crochet stitches x 2 rows = 1" x 1" (2.5 cm x 2.5 cm)

Size of the finished square in this video:
7.5 cm x 7.5 cm
Follow along with the video to make the square larger.
